My mom came to help me put up the wallpaper, which was a huge help. She pretty much saved the day, by realizing before we started that I didn't buy enough wall paper to cover the entire wall (oops). She came up with the great idea to add a chair rail and paint the bottom part of the wall. I think it turned out even better than if the whole wall was covered in the wallpaper.
With my mom's help, the wallpaper went up in less than two hours. We used a piece of MDF for the chair rail, which we super easy to put up. All it needed was just a few nails needed to keep it in place.
The color on the bottom of the wall is hard to get a good photograph of, but it's a really pretty berry color. This is the best picture I could to show the truest color.
I still need to recover the chairs. I'm not sure is I should cover then with just a simple solid fabric or, if I could get away with a subtle pattern without it looking to busy with the wallpaper. Other than that, the room is done! Finally!
Just for kicks, a before and after shot.
If you are so inclines you can see some past posts about the dining room progress here, here, and here.
Next up is the bathroom. As seems to be the theme in our home projects, we have been planning the redo for quite a while. Since June actually, but every time we plan to start, something comes up. But, it is officially happening in August since Ryan's dad is coming to help us. I'll be sure to post more about it as we progress.
