Right before we moved I splurged and purchased a fat quarter bundles of a design fabric lined called Arizona by April Rhodes. I have never purchased a designer fabric lie before, but I really loved this line, and just had to. I wasn't sure about buying a fat quarter bundle, but it was the cheapest way to get all the fabrics from the line. I am super glad I did! I have made a ton of projects from the fat quarters. I think the bundle came with 16 fat quarters, and I have made way more projects with them then I though would be able to!
Up first, I made a case for my phone. This is the second case I made for my phone, the first one I sadly lost somewhere in Colorado on our vacation. I guess it's okay since I like the new one better.
Next up, the Super Tote, from the blog Noodlehead. I love this blog, it is one of the few blogs I regularly follow. I have to say I love this pattern too!
The pattern was really easy to follow and the finished bag is great! I know I will be making more than one of this bag. In fact, I have another one all planned already!
Next up, I made this cute little pouch. I actually don't really like the finished result of this one so much, although it was mostly because I didn't use the right kind of interlining. I have made this pattern before, and I while I loved the first bag, the way the pattern has you construct the bag is very frustrating and difficult. When I finished the first time I actually threw the pattern away and said I would never make it again. In a brief lapse of sanity, I decided to try to make it again. It wasn't any easier the second time. I have now forever swore off make this pattern.
The last project is still in progress, but I though would share anyway. The pattern I used was Bionic Gear Bag, you can find the pattern on Craftsy here.
I love what I have so far! I actually one have a binding and a zipper to add, so I am pretty close to being done. I am planning on using it to hold my sewing supplies.
The pattern looks really challenging but it really isn't bad at all. I used some of the fabric from the Arizona line, and some from my stash, and I love how they all work together but are still very different.
I guess I really like making bags. I think since I going to school to learn how to make clothes, and working on clothes every day at my job, I like the simplicity of bag making. The patterns are simpler, and you never have to worry about how they fit, ha!
So that is what I have been working on lately! I always have a mental (and Pinterest) list of things I want to make a mile long, so there will be plenty more to share soon (maybe even some clothes).
