Yay! We closed yesterday! We are now officially home owners!
The closing took less than an hour, which was a lot shorter than I thought it would take. It was pretty painless. Basically, you sign your name to a TON of papers, give them a HUGE check and they hand you the keys to your new place!
After closing we went right to the new house to check it out. We had bough some paint samples to try out, so we did a few test swatches on the wall. We wanted everything to be as fresh as possible, so we decided to paint the ceilings. We spent most of the day on Thursday do that. Let me tell you, after about three strokes with the roller on the ceiling your neck and shoulders start to really hurt. I pretty much gave up on the rolling and just did the edging while Ryan took on the roller.
Today, my younger sister, and my mom came to help me paint while Ryan was at work. We painted the living room, and the room that is going to be my sewing room. It was so much fun to spend the day painting with them. We listed to sound tracks for at least five movies and sang and painted all day. I loved getting to spend that special time with them. When Ryan got home from work, he and I painted the master bedroom. I'm not sure if I like the color that I chose or not. I am going to wait to see the color in daylight and maybe I will like it better.
After two days of painting my body is feeling it! I can't even count the amount of times I climbed up and down a ladder, or squatted to reach the paint can. I know when I wake up tomorrow I'll be feeling it even more. I just keep thinking about the muscles I'm building, ha!
I am now going to crawl into bed. I'm sure I'll be asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. I'll have more pictures later of our progress with painting.
