Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating with your friends and family.  Ryan and I hosted the first annual, Siblings New Years Eve Party!  It was a blast!  We decided to have a 1920s speakeasy theme, and costumes were required.

We posted this sign on the front door, and everyone had to knock twice and give the secret password to enter. The password was "I'm on the lam" which I guess was a 20s slang term for, "I'm running from the police."

We also played a murder mystery game, which was a first for all of us.  We each had a different character that we had to act out, and at the end of the game we each had to guess who the murder was. I don't think anyone actually guessed correctly, but it was pretty funny to see everyone acting out their roles.

I also made a photo booth back drop for us to take pictures in front of.  The back drop was so simple to make.  I went to the dollar store and bought two colors of crepe paper.  I alternated hanging the colors on the wall and just twisted the paper before taping it on the bottom of the wall.  Really quick, easy and cheap, but it made a great background.

Here is each of the couples in their costumes, in black and white because you know, it was a 1920s theme.

All of us together.

Just the guys, aren't they handsome!

And the girls.  I thought all the girls did such a great job with their costumes and looked so pretty!

This isn't the best picture of myself, but I wanted to share my hairdo.  I was so proud that I was able to make something like a finger wave in my hair!  Let's just say it took a lot of hair spray and hair gel, to get it to stick, but I did it!

It was such a fun night!  We will have to think of a new theme for next year.

How did you spend your New Year's Eve?
