Flea market finds

If you know me at all, you know that I love thrifted and vintage things.  Case in point, almost every piece of furniture we own was purchased at an antique store or a thrift store.  I am just so intrigued by old things, and the stories behind them.

I have been wanting to go to a real flea market for forever, and Ryan and I finally got the chance to go last weekend!  We have gone to "flea markets" before which really turned out to be people selling junk in an over glorified garage sale type setting, but this flea market was legit.  I mean, you know you've found the right flea market when the line to get in is back up about a half mile and the parking lot is already almost full by 8:30am.

We didn't really know what to expect when we got there, but we had heard good things from friends. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! First of all, the vendor were not selling junk. They were selling actual vintage and antique pieces, and at fairly reasonable pieces, which was awesome.  Secondly, it was HUGE! We kept thinking the we had seen all the vendors, but then we would turn another corner and there was even more to see.

One of my favorite things that we saw was the absolutely adorable little children's table.  It looks almost exactly like our kitchen table and chairs.  It was so stinking cute!  I wanted it so bad, but Ryan said we couldn't get it because we didn't have any kids yet.  Lame excuse in my opinion.

We did leave with a few treasures though.  The first thing we bought was this shoe last.  Lasts are used for making and repairing shoes.  I thought is would be a fun knick-knack to have in the living room.  Currently it is living on our little end table.

We also found this wire basket, that I will be using in my sewing room to hold fabric.  I have wanted a basked like this for awhile, this one is the perfect size and even has a nifty handle.

We didn't buy much, but it was such a fun morning.  Sadly, the one we went to was the last of the season, so we will have to wait until next year to go again.  I'm already excited!
