Yard work!

We have spent this week cleaning up one of the "gardens" in our backyard.   I use the term  "garden" very loosely, because really it was a just a mass of weeds and over grown grass surrounded by a line of bricks.  I wish I had taken a before picture.  You will just have to trust me, even just the dirt looks better than what is looked like before.  My mom is planning on coming over for the day in a few weeks to help us pick out and plant some plants and put in mulch.  I know little to nothing about planting or maintaining a garden, so her help will be much appreciated.  There are still a few more areas/"gardens" in the yard that need to be cleaned up and replanted, but we are tackling them one at a time.

In other news, after having our recycling not picked up for two weeks in a row, we finally figured out why the garbage man wasn't take our recycling!  We would never have figured it out without the help of our neighbor across the alley.  Apparently, the recycling is only pick up one a month on the third week of the month.  Mystery solved!  Although I am not sure how we were supposed to know that.  It's a good thing the lady across the alley is so sweet and went out of her way to let us know.

Also, even more exciting news, my big brother is getting married this weekend!!!  We are so excited and happy for him and his fiance!  It will be a fun weekend for sure.  I will be sure to share some pictures next week.
