Happy 4th of July! I hope you had a wonderful day celebrating our country and hanging out with family! I wanted to share a few pictures from our day yesterday.
We started the day by going to the parade. Every square inch of sidewalk and curb was packed with people! The rule is you can't put out your blankets to save your spot until sun rise on the 4th. We didn't venture out until about an hour before the parade, but we did eventually find a spot. It was so much fun. Bucky badger and part of the Wisconsin marching band even made an appearance!
After the parade, we headed over the park to eat some yummy food and walk down by the beach. We had sweet potatoe fries and a polish sausage. Both were delicious!
We had a coupe friends over for dinner. The grill was fully loaded!
After dinner we went back to the park to watch the fireworks. Again, the park was packed with people. It's the same rule as the parade, you can't put your blanket down until sunrise the day of the fourth. There are defiantly people who get up at sunrise to put their blanket down. We sat down at what we thought was a good spot, until the fire works started. See, they shoot the fireworks off of the beach. At the park there is is huge open spot on the bluff above the beach that everyone was sitting in. We thought for sure they would launch the fireworks to be visible in that open spot, but no. They launched them off to the side, behind some trees. So, we watched the entire show through trees, but it was still fun, and the finale was awesome!!
It was a great fourth, and so much fun to be part of all the local activities.
