Moving went so fast! We started right about 8:00am and had everything over to the house by 11:00am. Between two pick up trucks, two mini vans, and a trailer we made quick work. And, to totally honest, I think I carried about three boxes the entire move! I mostly just told people where to put things as they came into the house with armloads of things. My family and Ryan's family were able to stay to help us unpack too. We had the master bedroom and the living room almost all set up by the end of the day.
Everyone was such a big help. Ryan's brother loaded the cars, unpacked the cars, and lifted all the heavy furniture. Our good friend, Matthew, also helped us as well. He brought his mini van and hauled multiple loads of stuff over to the new house, and also had the unfortunate task of carrying the dirty clothes basket (with the dirty clothes still inside..) My sisters help me unpack and arrange, and rearrange furniture until I was happy with how it all looked. My dad climbed up on the roof and clean out all the gutters, which were overflowing. Seriously, think there were small trees growing in them.
We are so blessed to have such a loving and caring family and friends around us. They were all so willing help where ever was needed, I can't thank them enough. We got so much more done in the house on Saturday than I ever thought was possible.
The living room about mid-day, and my sister Anna.
The kitchen, again, about mid-day. I love how big it is. We had my family and Ryan's family all eating lunch sitting in either the dining room and we all fit! So great.
The sewing room. Sadly, it looks way worse now. This room has ended up being the 'I-don't-know-what-to-do-with-that-box-just-put-in-the-sewing-room" room. Oh, well. It will be cleaned out one day soon.
Finally, the living room, mostly set up. After about three different arrangements of furniture, and at least twice as many theoretical arrangements, we decided on this. I like it. I am hoping to be able to have a gallery wall above the credenza. I'm still deciding on what, if anything, I want to put above the couch.
It's so exciting to finally be in the new house! It has been really fun, but also really tiring. I can't wait to finally have the last few boxes unpacked and finally feel settled in. Next weekend in is the 4th of July, and the first weekend in a long time that we will just be at home. I am so excited to spend some time with Ryan, doing little things in the house and just being at home.
