The Kitchen Reveal: It's finally finished!

The kitchen is FINALLY finished! Hooray! It took significantly longer than expected, but it is done and we love it.

Here she is in all her beauty!

I love everything about it! I was a tiny bit nervous about all the pieces coming together and looking cohesive, but they all fit the space so perfectly.

One of my favorite things about the kitchen are all the brass details.  It took me weeks to find cabinet pulls that were brass and not insanely expensive or ugly.  I just could not bring myself to spend $10 or more on each pull. It also took us some time to find brass light fixtures.  Finally, several months ago when we were visiting Ryan's brother we found the perfect ones at an antique store.  One is above the sink and the other is above the dining room table.

We ended up having to replace the dishwasher.  We had intended to use the old dish washer and wait to buy a new one, but we ran one load in the old dish washer after it installed and then it quit working.  We took it as a sign to just bite the bullet and get new one.

The extra counter space has been incredible! It is so nice to both be working in the kitchen and have space.  I can be baking something while Ryan cooks dinner and we aren't fighting for space.

I found these art prints on Etsy, and knew they would be perfect for the kitchen.  The wall paper in the dining room is pretty loud, so I didn't want the art to compete with it.  I love these prints because they have a mid century modern vibe, but echo the colors of the wall paper.

Running the same flooring all the way into the dining room makes the two space flow together so well, and makes the whole space feel bigger.  I am thinking I might get a rug to go under the table, but I'm not sure yet.

Just for kicks, here is the before shot from the original listing of the house:

And the beautiful after:

Way better right?!
